and the good Frey dropped peace and plenty everywhere, and men went in and out and feared no wrong. King Volsung had a dwelling in the midst of fertile fields and fruitful gardens.

Fairer than any dream was that dwelling. The roof was thatched with gold, and red turrets and towers rose above. The great feast-hall was long and high, and its walls were hung with sun-bright shields; and the door-nails were of silver.

In the middle of the hall stood the pride of the Volsungs,—a tree whose blossoms filled the air with fragrance, and whose green branches, thrusting themselves through the ceiling, covered the roof with fair foliage. It was Odin’s tree, and King Volsung had planted it there with his own hands.

Information

Barabbas Font is a font inspired by the hand-designed generic and screen titles of Barabbas Font, an italo-american movie produced by Richard Fleischer in 1961. A religious epic of grand proportions, 'Barabbas' is a 1961 film directed by the talented Richard Fleischer. Starring Anthony Quinn as the titular character, the film delves into the story of Barabbas as depicted in the Christian Passion narrative found in the Gospel of Mark and other gospels. With an all-star cast including Silvana Mangano, Katy Jurado, Arthur Kennedy, Harry Andrews, Ernest Borgnine, Vittorio Gassman, and Jack Palance, this film, distributed by Columbia Pictures, is based on Nobel Prize-winning Pär Lagerkvist's 1950 novel of the same name. A Swedish film adaptation of the novel was released in 1953. Filmed in the stunning locations of Verona and Rome under the supervision of producer Dino De Laurentiis, 'Barabbas' includes many spectacular scenes, such as a thrilling battle of gladiators in a Cinecittà film studio arena set and a heart-wrenching depiction of the crucifixion during an actual total solar eclipse. This film was truly conceived as a grand Roman epic, and it does not disappoint. Now, Barabbas Font as a font family draws its inspiration directly from the hand-designed master pieces found in the very early stages of the film but it tends to be a more contemporary approach. The design system of the font found through logic curve design, weight proportion and distribution and so on, make this font an amazing design tool to be working with. With its referential hand-designed letterform, Barabbas will do wonders when used as a display font for movie posters, book covers, web design headlines.
